Service Start Time and Duration
The Bar Mitzvah service will begin promptly at 6PM, and will last approximately 1.5 hours, concluding with Havdallah. While the Torah will be brought out, Tallit are not required unless you have an Aliyah. Unlike Saturday morning Bar Mitzvah’s, where the start time is more of a suggestion, we ask that you make your best effort to be on time for Max’s Bar Mitzvah. The service will be followed by dinner and a reception in the Gales Family Ballroom.

Getting To The Synagogue
Synagogue Address
Congregation Beth Israel
989 W 28th Ave (at Oak St)
Vancouver, BC V5Z 0E8
From The River Rock
By Car (15-20 mins, depending on traffic)
In a nutshell, you take the Oak St bridge from Richmond, and then continue down Oak St (North) until you get to West 28th Ave. At West 28th Ave, you make a right at the light, and then a left into the Beth Israel underground parking lot. Click this link for detailed driving directions via Google Maps.
By Train (30 mins)
You can take the Canada Line from Bridgeport Station (River Rock) to King Edward Station (25th and Cambie), and then walk to the Beth Israel. The train ride itself is about 10 minutes, and the walk is about another 10 minutes from 25th and Cambie, to 28th and Oak. While it surely can be done, I wouldn’t strongly recommend this option, as: a) it might be raining, and b) you might not be wearing the most comfortable walking shoes. Factoring in wait times, this option will probably take you 30 minutes total.
By Taxi (15-20 mins, depending on traffic)
From the River Rock, to the synagogue, your estimated cab fare would be $23.73, not including a tip.
